ABOUT THE ORIGINAL
Mona Lisa in the Style of Basquiat, after Leonardo da Vinci.
Leonardo's pose survives — the folded hands, the winding road, the half-turn towards the viewer — but everything else has been repainted with a palette knife in cobalt, cadmium and rose, the sfumato traded for ridges of standing oil you could read with your fingers. A red crown floats above her head, and more crowns and scrawled glyphs drift across the lake: the vocabulary Jean-Michel Basquiat used to make his subjects royalty. At her shoulder a gilt mirror shows the back of her head, answering the one question the original never lets you ask. Painted in oil on a solid ash panel at the original's own size, 76.3 × 53 cm, built up in layers the way Leonardo built his — he worked on poplar. Made to order, after Leonardo da Vinci.
Our atelier works from a colour-accurate reference, recreating each passage in oil so the surface — not a print of it — carries the image. The result is a faithful, hand-made reproduction, certified and made to last.

“It arrived and my guests refuse to believe it's a reproduction. The texture, the certificate — it feels like an heirloom.”
